Volunteers are the heart and core of the Cancer Resource Center. Our organization is impassioned by the energy and commitment that volunteers bring with them. They are the key component to many of our services because they provide the support structure that enable things to happen on a day-to-day basis.

Volunteers fill a variety of different roles within the organization. Here are a few examples of the work they do:

• General office work
• Taking photos at events
• Help at our annual Walkathon
• Research information for clients
• Write articles for our newsletter and other publications
• Assist with fundraising
• Staff educational displays at public events
• Advocate for awareness and support of breast/gynecological cancers
• Develop grant proposals
• Speak to students and other interested group

We want you to have a successful and fulfilling volunteer experience, so we tailor our work to match your talents, skills and interests.

We also has opportunities to work directly with clients. This work requires more extensive training and a long-term commitment. Direct service functions include:

• Helpline counselor
• Peer Information Network
• Support Companion
• Resource Center
• Professional Services
